Frequently asked questions
Should I hire an interior designer or a design-build firm for a home renovation in Utah?
With an interior designer alone, you usually hire a separate contractor and coordinate between the two. Bya Interiors Design & Build keeps both under one roof: Bya Patzner leads the design, and the same team manages construction as a licensed and insured Utah contractor (License #14272767-5501, B100). You get one point of contact from the first sketch to the final detail.
Who can design and manage a whole-home remodel in Salt Lake City from start to finish?
Bya Interiors Design & Build handles whole-home remodels from concept to completion: design, construction and furnishing. Examples include Elysium at Gracey Lane in Sandy (a 1993 rambler reimagined as a 6,300 sq ft multi-generational home), The Fairway House and Wallace, our first full-home remodel.
Do you work in Park City, Heber City and Midway?
Yes. Our projects include Matterhorn: The Hygge House in Summit Park, Park City, which was featured in the 2023 Park City Showcase of Homes, plus Silver Creek in Park City, Le Petit Château in Heber City and The Midway Vacation Home in Midway.
Which areas do you serve?
We're based in Sandy and work across Salt Lake County (including the East Bench), Utah County (including Alpine and Highland) and the Wasatch Back (Park City, Heber City and Midway).
Can you furnish and set up a short-term rental so it's guest-ready?
Yes. Short-term rentals and hospitality projects are part of what we do, from design to furnishing. Little Gem, for example, was delivered fully furnished and ready for mid- and short-term rental. Elysium Retreats operates two short-term-rental units at the Gracey Lane property in Sandy.
How much does a luxury interior designer cost in Salt Lake City or Park City?
Every project is scoped individually, and it starts with a free consultation. We take on a limited number of projects each year, starting at a $250,000 investment.
Is Bya Interiors award-winning?
Yes. Elysium at Gracey Lane received a judges' award for Best Interior & Sustainability at the 2025 Salt Lake Parade of Homes, as reported by KSL. Matterhorn: The Hygge House was also featured in the 2023 Park City Showcase of Homes.
